PCIA Supports Broadband Deployment Goals of Economic Stimulus Package

February 17, 2009, ALEXANDRIA, VA PCIA - The Wireless Infrastructure Association President and CEO, Michael Fitch issued the following statement in response to the enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act by President Obama: "The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is a significant investment in our nation's infrastructure, including broadband network deployment. Communications infrastructure is the backbone for the economic and societal benefits of ubiquitous wireless and broadband access. PCIA and its members are committed to the deployment of network infrastructure that makes wireless and broadband available everywhere, and look forward to working with policymakers to achieve the improvements envisioned by the Act." PCIA - The Wireless Infrastructure Association is the principal trade association representing the companies that make up the wireless telecommunications infrastructure industry. Its members include the carriers, infrastructure providers and professional services firms that own and manage more than 120,000 telecommunications facilities throughout the world.
