ALEXANDRIA, VA PCIA-The Wireless Infrastructure Association President and CEO, Michael T.N. Fitch issued the following statement today in response to the nomination of Julius Genachowski as FCC Chairman: "We congratulate Mr. Genachowski on his nomination as FCC Chairman. His background and leadership on communications issues makes him extraordinarily well qualified to lead the FCC as it addresses broadband strategy and infrastructure issues. Wireless infrastructure provides the backbone for the deployment of wireless broadband and other wireless services. As the FCC addresses its responsibilities pursuant to the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act to establish a nation-wide broadband strategy, we look forward to working with Mr. Genachowski to advance the role of wireless infrastructure as a necessary element of ubiquitous broadband service."
