3/20/2013 - PCIA and The DAS Forum sent a letter to the FCC detailing actions the commission can take to streamline its environmental and historic preservation requirements to facilitate distributed antenna system (“DAS”) and small cell deployments, as part of its planned proceeding to remove additional barriers to the deployment of wireless infrastructure.
The ex parte cites research by noted historian, researcher, and former Preservation Specialist for the FCC and State Historic Preservation Officer for the State of Ohio, Amos J. Loveday, Ph.D. The report compares DAS and small cell solutions to the FCC’s current environmental and historic preservation framework.
