FCC Commissioner Kevin J. Martin
To Deliver Keynote Address at First Annual PCIA
Conference & Expo

August 19, 2003, Alexandria, Va. --- FCC Commissioner Kevin J. Martin has confirmed that he will open the PCIA Wireless Infrastructure Conference & Expo (http://pcia.expoplanner.com) as a Keynote speaker on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in Hollywood, FL at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, according to PCIA-The Wireless Infrastructure Association.

Commissioner Martin will give attendees a first-hand account and expert forecast of the carefully and vigorously regulated wireless infrastructure industry in a session called The Regulatory Landscape. His fireside-style chat will focus on the evolving policy priorities at the FCC and how they have a direct impact on the day-to-day businesses of wireless infrastructure companies.

"Commissioner Martin is a rising star at the FCC and he is well known for delivering timely information that directly address current regulatory, technical and business matters before the FCC," said Jay Kitchen, PCIA President & CEO. "PCIA is well-known for its regulatory and policy work at the FCC. That reputation helped us attract one of the most influential decision-makers inside the Beltway. Commissioner Martin's Keynote address is worth the price of admission for any tower industry professional because they'll get first-hand information at PCIA's show first."

Before joining the FCC, Martin was a Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy. He served on the Bush-Cheney Transition Team and was Deputy General Counsel for the Bush campaign. He also served as an advisor to FCC Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth. Martin received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Masters in Public Policy from Duke University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the Florida Bar, District of Columbia Bar and the Federal Communications Bar Association.

Commissioner Martin joins seven other FCC senior officials who have been confirmed to speak on a variety of regulatory and business/technology topics at PCIA's Wireless Infrastructure Conference & Expo. They include:

  • John B. Muleta, Chief, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau will participate in The Carrier Viewpoint: How Regulatory Policies Shape the Wireless Infrastructure Landscape.

  • Bryan Tramont, Senior Legal Advisor to FCC Chairman Michael Powell will headline a special breakfast dedicated to addressing FCC policy priorities such as environmental regulation and compliance activities.
