Carriers Grab Private Conference Rooms
At PCIA Show in Record Time

Sends a clear signal the wireless infrastructure market is important to carriers

August 14, 2003, Alexandria, VA — PCIA, The Wireless Infrastructure Association announced today that six major carrier companies snapped up conference rooms at the PCIA Wireless Infrastructure Conference & Expo from October 1-3, in Hollywood, FL less than two hours after they were offered.

"This is further evidence that carriers will be attending the PCIA Wireless Infrastructure Show to do business with our exhibiting tower companies and vendors," said Jay Kitchen, President & CEO of PCIA. "The conference rooms were offered to provide carriers with private meeting space with PCIA exhibitors and the carriers responded quickly. That's good news for exhibitors."

Carriers with zoning, site leasing, collocation, site management, real estate planning, legal, or network development interests were invited to take advantage of a limited number of complimentary carrier conference rooms.

"The fact that carriers reserved the rooms so quickly underscores the importance they place in meeting privately with tower companies and wireless infrastructure vendors," said Kitchen. "It looks as if there will be as much business going on in private meetings as there will be in traditional spaces."

The six carrier companies that quickly reserved private conference rooms are:

  1. Nextel
  2. T-Mobile
  3. Sprint
  4. Cingular
  5. AT&T
  6. Skytel

PCIA exhibitors, tower companies and vendors that want to arrange private meetings with carriers can do so by e-mailing a meeting request to harrisr@pcia.com before close of business September 25, 2003. The requests will be forwarded to the carrier representatives that reserved the conference rooms. They will then contact exhibitors and vendors directly to arrange meetings.

"The goal of this show is to introduce the buyer to the seller so everyone can do more business. These carrier conference rooms are another demonstrated, proactive, value-add toward meeting that goal," said Kitchen.
